Community Revival
FRANKLIN AVENUE CORRIDOR REVITALIZATION: A STREETSCAPE IDENTITY PACKAGE FOR HISTORIC ALIQUIPPA
This project involved the development of strategies as well as an identity revival motive for abandoned downtown (Franklin Corridor) of Aliquippa which was once a thriving town known for steel production.
As a part of sustainable communities course, with site visits, community interaction and analysis of the present day scenario, possible street revitalization strategies were to be presented to the community. This was to show that small 'Placemaking' investments could result in dramatic change in usable space and enhanced community value.
